Bayou Area Habitat for Humanity located in Thibodaux, LA. Southwest of New Orleans, an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, and a non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with local individuals who build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses are then sold to qualifying families for no profit and with no interest charged. This allows many to enjoy the pride and dignity of homeownership. The dedication of everyone involved, from homeowner, to staff and volunteers makes it all possible.
The Bayou Area Habitat for Humanity ReStore needs your donations! Of almost any household items. Items accepted are doors, windows, cabinets (kitchen/other) and working appliances (10 years or less), furniture, paintings, lamps, holiday items, household items, linens, kitchenware, etc., with the exception of clothing and computer hardware. Most donations to the ReStore come from individuals and retailers/manufacturers who have overstocked or gently damaged inventory that they cannot sell. Donors to the Bayou Area Habitat ReStore are not only helping a great cause, but also receive a tax receipt to be used for a possible tax deduction. All donated items are then sold at discounted prices (50-70% off) to the general public with all proceeds helping Bayou Area Habitat continue its mission in the community of building houses.
