Since 1992, Leadership Terrebonne has served as a ''community leadership incubator, providing a comprehensive, interactive program for current and future leaders to prepare for volunteer and public service. Today, as many as 30 community residents per year, from all walks of life, participate in the 10-month program, considered by many as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to understand the issues, opportunities and challenges facing Terrebonne Parish.
Led by a professional facilitator, participants learn about featured topics directly from local experts and policy-makers during day-long sessions conducted each month. These topics include local government, education, economic development, coastal protection and restoration, health care, criminal justice and law enforcement, and the diversity of our parish population. Informative field trips to area schools, the parish prison and local hospitals are also included. Each program year begins in January with a 1 and a half day opening session and culminates with an overnight closing retreat and a graduation ceremony in October.
Program tuition is $800 if paid in full by December 31 prior to the start of the program. If paid in installments, tuition is $850. Payments may be made in 4 monthly instalments of $212.50 Tuition must be paid in full by April 30th.
